Why Use an EV SSL Certificate?

Every SSL certificate encrypts traffic identically. What an Extended Validation certificate adds is proof of identity, and for sites handling money or personal data, that proof is what turns a hesitant visitor into a customer.

What EV adds over DV

The Business Case for Extended Validation

EV costs more than a domain-validated certificate, so it needs to earn that difference. For transactional websites, it does so in several concrete ways.

Higher checkout completion

Visible proof that a verified company stands behind the site reduces abandonment at exactly the moment a customer is asked for card details.

Protection against lookalikes

Anyone can obtain a DV certificate for a lookalike domain in minutes. Nobody can obtain an EV certificate in your company’s name, which makes clone sites easier to expose.

Maximum warranty cover

EV certificates carry the highest warranties available, up to $1.75 million, covering losses if the certificate is mis-issued.

Procurement and compliance

Government tenders, banking partners and enterprise procurement checklists frequently require organisation or extended validation as a minimum.

Recognised trust seals

EV certificates come with the premium dynamic seals visitors already recognise from major banking and retail websites.

Brand credibility

For a Pakistani business selling internationally, a verified organisation name signals a real, accountable company behind the website.

Understanding SSL certificates

What SSL does, which type you need and how installation works.

2. DV, OV or EV?
3. Wildcard and multi-domain
4. How installation works
5. Renewing on time

What SSL does

An SSL certificate encrypts the connection between your website and visitors, protecting logins, forms and payments. It also shows the padlock and HTTPS in the browser.

DV, OV or EV?

DV checks only domain ownership and is issued in minutes. OV verifies your organisation. EV performs the most thorough company checks and is preferred by banks and large stores.

Wildcard and multi-domain

A wildcard certificate covers all sub-domains of one domain. Multi-domain (SAN) certificates cover several different domains in one certificate.

How installation works

We generate a CSR on your server, submit it to the certificate authority, help with validation and install the issued certificate — then check that HTTPS works on every page.

Renewing on time

Certificates have a fixed validity period. Renew before expiry to avoid browser warnings; we send reminders and can handle renewals for you.
